Who we are

We’re a small Canadian business that believes very strongly in the rights and power of the people. We disagree very strongly with authoritarian, corporate overreach, and recognize that such overreach would definitely extend towards data about anyone who might be purchasing the kind of counterculture merchandise being sold through this site.

Which is to say, if there was some magical way of not storing any of your data, ever, for any length of time, we’d take it… but then we’d never be able to actually send you the things that you buy, because we wouldn’t have an address to ship to, an order number to reference, or a transaction ID to prove payment.

So, we do what we can to limit what we store, and why.

However, the reality of modern e-commerce sites, is that most are constructed using an array of different tools, which make the entire process work. Those tools all have access to the data being input as part of a transaction, and the companies that make those tool endeavour to leverage that data to the best of their ability.

Who we share your data with

The server running this website is hosted by a cloud service provider. Conceivably that provider could access the information stored on their disks, as they hold its encryption keys.

This site is running WordPress with the WooCommerce plugin. Both of these modules use cookies as part of their operation, and these companies may collect the associated data, and they may in turn sell it.

You can opt out of the sale of that data with WooCommerce here. WordPress’ privacy policy can be found here, and, if you are from the US, you may see a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link at the footer of the site.

Payments are made to various Print On Demand (POD) services, and are processed by the WooCommerce plugin, and Stripe payment processing, using the credit card you provide. Stripe’s privacy policy can be found here.

Those companies may share any data you input as part of a processing a sale through this website. This could potentially result in various government agencies knowing your private information and that you purchased a counterculture item from our shop.

We’re looking at implementing a more anonymous method of purchasing using digital currencies.

Apart from the entities listed above, we do not share your data with anyone.

How long we retain your data

We at incendiary.ca only retain your information as long as we have to; 45 days from the date of purchase, so that we can process returns. Order data is deleted after 45 days.

Account information is kept until you choose to delete it.

If you see information that should no longer be there (such as order history from longer than 45 days ago) please send us an email at support@incendiary.ca so that we can ensure it’s deletion (and figure out why it wasn’t already deleted)
